Wings Red three-peat as champions of middle elite division

[November 12, 2017 - Harmon, Guam] Wings Red finally mastered the winning formula against the previously undefeated ASC Trust Islanders to repeat as U15 champions of the Aloha Maid Minetgot Cup Elite Youth League with an 8-4 victory Saturday evening at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.

The Islanders, the lone team to lead against Wings Red in the regular season with one win and one draw, found themselves in a hole early, down two goals in the first ten minutes of play. Just four minutes into the first half, Robert Niu worked the right side of the field and found championship match MVP Mark Iseke for a picture-perfect header to start the Wings Red scoring barrage in the half. Two minutes later, a long-distance shot from Taiga Simon doubled his team’s advantage. Iseke managed to complete a first-half hat trick before the halftime whistle.

ASC Trust Islanders repeat as U13 elite league champions

[November 11, 2017 - Harmon, Guam] The ASC Trust Islanders gained from early goals against Wings Red to repeat as Aloha Maid Minetgot Cup Elite Youth League champions with a 6-3 victory Saturday at the Guam Football Association National Training Center..

Championship match MVP E.J. Sablan contributed a hat trick in the win and teammates Nainoa Norton, Justin Joseph, and Cristian Cruz also scored.

Wings Red’s Martin Iseke scored his team’s lone goal in the first half on a penalty kick and teammates Taiyo Kanekatsu and Rintaro Nishioka scored one each in the second half.

ASC Islanders capture U18 elite soccer title in PK shootout

[November 7, 2017 - Harmon, Guam] The ASC Trust Islanders captured the Aloha Maid Minetgot Cup Elite Youth Soccer League U18 Division title Monday night winning a penalty kick shootout 8-7 against Quality Distributors at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.

Regulation time could not separate the sides at 3-3, prompting a penalty kick shootout per league rules.

Islanders, Wings renew rivalry in U13, U15 elite soccer final

[November 5, 2017 - Harmon, Guam] The ASC Trust Islanders and Wings Red renew their elite soccer rivalry in both the U13 and U15 divisions of the Aloha Maid Minetgot Cup Elite Youth Soccer League, as both clubs won their respective semifinal matches Saturday at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.

Spring 2017 champions Wings Red return to the U15 Division title match this season after blanking the Tigers 11-0 in the first of two semifinal matches. Mark Iseke led all scorers with hat trick and teammates Tayler Bonner and Eddie Cho netted two each. Taiga Simon, Matthew Iseke and Noah Mueller also contributed to the Wings Red goal haul. The team’s other goal came on a second-half own goal by the Tigers. The division’s Golden Glove winner, Marcus Del Rosario, was credited with the clean sheet for Wings Red.

In the day’s second U15 Division semifinal, the No. 1 ASC Trust Islanders continue its undefeated streak to land in the championship match with an 11-1 win over Community First/Days Inn Dededo Soccer Club.

SP17 champs Quality, Islanders to play for U18 elite title

[November 1, 2017 - Harmon, Guam] Defending champions Quality Distributors are peaking at the right time to potentially double up on Aloha Maid Minetgot Cup Elite Youth League U18 Division titles following a 3-2 upset of formerly undefeated No. 1 Wings Red in playoff semifinals Monday at the Guam Football Association National Training Center.

Quality’s Sam Larkin scored twice in the second half and James Jeong scored the team’s other goal in the 57th minute to amass a 3-0 lead with about 25 minutes left to play.

Though late in the game, Wings Red continued to press Quality’s defense to chip away at the lead. Takumi Odell finished a set play in the 85th minute to score Wings Red’s first goal and four minutes later, Jordan Jasmin went one-on-one with Quality keeper Taka Ward and won to get his team within one goal.
