Tumon/IDL captures 2018 Budweiser Men's Futsal title

[September 24, 2018 - Harmon, Guam] Tumon/IDL captured the 2018 Budweiser Men’s Futsal League crown Sunday afternoon, defeating Quality Distributors 14-5 in the championship match played at the Guam Sports Complex Gym.

Tumon/IDL dominated in the season finale, amassing an 8-1 lead by halftime, with league Golden Boot Ashton Surber and teammate Eddie Lee Lorenzo each scoring a hat trick in the first half. Lorenzo scored twice more in the second half to lead all scorers with five goals.

Tumon/IDL’s Marcus Lopez also contributed a hat trick in the win and teammates Jason Cunliffe and Jonahan Romero each scored once. Tumon/IDL’s other goal came on a Quality own goal.


Papi FC win futsal final 12-4 over Quality Distributors

[September 25, 2017 - Harmon, Guam] Papi FC amassed a 6-0 lead by halftime against Quality Distributors and never looked back to win the 2017 Budweiser Futsal League title 12-4 at the Guam Sports Complex Gym Sunday.

The league’s Golden Boot winner Ashton Surber and teammate Marcus Lopez led all scorers, netting three goals each in the win. Ian Mariano and Jan Flores each scored twice and Jason Cunliffe also scored. Papi FC’s other goal came on a Quality Distributors own goal.

Ethan Elwell, Barinedum Bakor, Joshua Pangelinan and Giancarlo Abril scored for Quality Distributors.


Quality Distributors set up futsal final clash with Papi FC

[September 21, 2017 - Harmon, Guam] Papi FC and Quality Distributors will play for the 2017 Budweiser Futsal League crown after winning their respective semifinal matches Wednesday evening at the Guam Sports Complex Gym.

Papi FC staved off a late surge by the Bank of Guam Strykers and won 8-5 to book the team’s ticket to the championship match. A double hat trick performance by Marcus Lopez was enough to keep Papi FC ahead of the Strykers and teammates Roy Abril and Jason Cunliffe also scored in the win. Hiro Asoshina led the Strykers with two goals and teammates Scott Spindel, Sho Hammond, and Bradley Dickson also scored.


Mosa's fall to third in futsal following back-to-back losses

[September 4, 2017 - Harmon, Guam] After a hot 4-0 start in its maiden Budweiser Futsal League season, back-to-back losses dropped former league leader Mosa's to the third-place spot in league rankings halfway through Week 7 play Sunday at the Guam Sports Complex Gym in Harmon.

Papi FC was the latest team to earn a victory over Mosa's, an 11-7 win, to overtake the top spot in the league. Ian Mariano led all scorers with five for Papi and teammate Ashton Surber scored four. David Drews and Marcus Lopez scored Papi's other goals. Riley Jones Taijeron and Matthew Robles each scored twice for Mosa's and teammates Seth Surber, Jared Quichocho, and Gideon Tyquiengco also scored.

In Sunday's other matches, the Bank of Guam Strykers managed to hold off the NAPA Rovers 4-3 to move up to the No. 2 position in league standings. Kyle Halehale led all scorers with two goals for the winning team and teammates Julius Campos and Scott Spindel also scored. Nathan Sablan, Jorge Hellu, and Shawn Spindel scored for the Rovers.


2017 Budweiser Futsal League opens with three matches

[July 23, 2017 - Harmon, Guam] Newly formed team Mosa’s take the early top spot in the 2017 Budweiser Men’s Futsal League rankings based on superior goal differential following all opening week matches Sunday at the Guam Sports Complex Gym.

Mosa’s started off its season on the right foot with an 11-6 win over the University of Guam Tritons in the day’s late game. Matt Robles led all scorers with a double hat trick for Mosa’s and teammates Gideon Tyquiengco, Kevin Leasiolagi, Keith Surber and Seth Surber also scored. Mosa’s earned its other goal when Tritons’ goalkeeper Michael Topasna misjudged a full-court throw by Mosa’s second-half goalkeeper Fredrico Nedlic and accidentally fumbled the ball into UOG’s goal.

The Tritons were led by Dylan Naputi and Jacques Diambra-Odi, both scoring two goals each. Teammates Joseph Quan and Todd Pangelinan also scored in the contest.
